Studying a photography degree in Carmarthen, West Wales, has fueled me with inspiration - strengthening my connections with the Welsh Landscape and giving me the opportunity to further my photographic language.

Leaving my roots behind me, I traveled to Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, Norway and Holland, teaching myself how to use an old film SLR camera that I got from a friend on the day I left Wales. Since returning, I have fused my love of Wales - it’s history, mystery and memory with my 1989 large format field camera in an expressionistic, abstract and mysterious series of ongoing projects about my relationship with the land and my childhood.

Juggling a BA(hons) Photography degree with a Harp career was interesting, with my students sitting grade examinations during my final major project! I particularly love playing the Harp at gallery openings, including my own photographic exhibitions! I began teaching harp in September 2006 in Carmarthenshire where I still teach for two days a week, then moving back to South Wales, living in the hill top town of Llantrisant where I was born and bred.
